Large natural-colour freshwater pearls in this size and grade normally sit far above this price. Three things stack here: 10–11mm takes years of growth, natural pink-purple is one of the scarcest freshwater colours, and metallic luster is the top grade. Finding all three in one strand is uncommon — I bought it as a single lot and priced it to move rather than sit.

About the colour
Every tone here is the pearl's own body colour, grown inside the mussel. Not dyed, not coated. The strand runs from pale rose through mauve and warm bronze to deep aubergine, with green and blue flashes on the darkest pearls where the nacre catches light. Treated pearls look uniform; this looks like what it is — pearls sorted by hand from a natural spread.

What metallic luster means

Luster runs dull → satin → high → metallic. Metallic is the top grade: the surface reflects like polished chrome, sharp enough to catch a window's reflection in a single pearl. It's the biggest factor in a pearl's value, and the reason these read as expensive in person.

Length & how to wear it
At 49cm / 19.3 in this sits just below the collarbone — long enough to clear a crew neck, short enough to read as a pearl necklace rather than a rope. Works over a black turtleneck, an open collar, or a slip dress. The gold spacers keep the strand from looking heavy and let each pearl show its shape.

Are the pearls dyed? No. Every colour here is natural body colour.

Are these real pearls? Yes — real freshwater pearls, cultured in mussels. The variation in shape and colour between pearls is how you tell them from glass or plastic.

What does metallic luster mean? The highest luster grade — the surface reflects sharply, like polished metal, instead of glowing softly.

Is the clasp solid gold? No. Eco brass with 18K gold plating.

Can the length be adjusted? Message me before ordering — restringing shorter is possible

Can I shower or swim in it? No. Water and chlorine damage both nacre and plating. Take it off first.
